Hi! SU, for me, is for bored time when there is nothing else to do or nothing else I want to do. Uh, I'm not exactly sure what kind of information you are supposed to share on an SU profile. I like cake? The food, not the band.

I've been a reader of Bill's since he was writing on the now defunct "Gone Gold". His writing is always quite enjoyable, whether he is writing about video games or his trips to visit the inlaws. This site is generally about all things related to gaming, but does venture in to stories about his son, his wife, the aforementioned inlaws, and various other topics. Also always fun is the Friday linkathon with lots of linkage to always interesting subjects, the majority of which are submitted by readers. Anyhow, if you enjoy gaming or just good writing, I suggest you check this site out.

The regular season is over, now let the games begin.

Let's take a look at the eastern conference matchups first:

(1)Montreal vs (8)Boston
(2)Pittsburgh vs (7)Ottawa
(3)Washington vs (6)Philadelphia
(4)New Jersey vs (5)New York Rangers

First up, we have the Habs and the Bruins. Montreal has won all 8 of the matchups this season between these two teams. Montreal also has the momentum going into the playoffs, the Bruins have been struggling over their last 10 games and barely made it into the playoffs at all. I don't foresee the Habs having any issues in the first round and will win in 5 games.

Next we have the Pens and the Sens. Ottawa won 3 of the 4 times they played Pittsburgh this year. However, Pittsburgh has really picked it up lately, with Hossa and Crosby both healthy, winning 6 of the last 10 games down the stretch. Ottawa has only won 3 in the same time. The Pens have all the momentum going into the first round, and as long as Crosby and Hossa stay injury free, Pittsburgh is going to take this in 6.

Washington and Philadelphia. The Flyers actually finished the regular season 1 point higher than the Caps, but due to the divisional separation, the Caps are a higher seed. The two have both won 2 of the matchups against them this season. They both also had a fair amount of momentum coming into the playoffs; Philly has won 7 of their last 10 while Washington has won 9. These teams are really close, but Washington has the scoring machine that is known as Ovechkin. They take this in 6 unless Philly finds someway to shut Ovechkin down.... which isn't going to happen.

New Jersey and New York Rangers could be the best matchup in the east in this first round. They have been rivals forever and hopefully that fuels both teams in this matchup. Going in, the Rangers have actually beaten the Devils 7 of the 8 times they faced off this season. Both teams are actually about .500 in the last 10 games and with nearly identical records all season long, this is the one to watch. I'm going to go ahead and say this will go 7 games with the Rangers coming out the victor.

Moving on to the west coast, lets see whats going on with these matchups:

(1)Detroit vs (8)Nashville
(2)San Jose vs (7)Calgary
(3)Minnesota vs (6)Colorado
(4)Anaheim vs (5)Dallas

Three of these four matchups seem to be really one sided. The first of which is the matchup between the juggernaut that is Detroit against Nashville. Surprisingly, the Wings only won 5 of the 8 games between these two this year and have only one more win in their last 10 games than the Preds. However, I don't think this will be a factor in this first round. Detroit IS a superior team and have far more playoff winning experience. The Wings are going to take this game in 5.

San Jose has lost in 3 of their 4 matchups this season against Calgary. Calgary also has Jerome Iginla who is a magnificent player. Unfortunately, I don't think that will be enough to topple the Sharks who have been steamrolling everything as of late. San Jose will take this series in 6 games.

Now for the only matchup that is going to be hard to predict in the west: Minnesota and Colorado. The Wild have won 5 of their 8 matchups this year, but both teams have nearly identical records over the season and have been fairly mediocre down the stretch. I honestly haven't any idea as to who is going to win this round, but I hope Colorado somehow pulls it off, if for no other reason than hoping to see them stay in the playoffs long enough to play the Wings. So, I'll say Aves win in 7.

The last matchup in this round is the defending champs facing off against the Stars. Dallas has the advantage in the matchups this season, taking 5 of the 8 games they played againts the Ducks. Season long, their records are fairly close, Anaheim holding a 5 point advantage at the end. However, over the last 10, Dallas has only won 3 to the Ducks 8 wins. The Ducks have been quite the force during the last half of the season(or since Selanne retur
